Apply to the SEO Law Fellowship

The 2026 SEO Law Fellowship application is now open for submission.

Application Qualifications 

To qualify you must meet the following requirements:

Have a minimum GPA of 3.3
Take the LSAT, GRE, or GMAT at least once before submitting their application (latest LSAT considered: February 2026).

 

Achieve a minimum LSAT score of 154 (or GRE/GMAT equivalent)
Be a working professional or graduate from a four-year college/university by May 2026.

 

Have U.S. work authorization for the duration of the Fellowship (work authorization cannot be obtained through the Fellowship).
Apply to an ABA-accredited law school for Fall 2026 matriculation.

Here’s what you need to have ready when you apply (all of the following sections must be completed before we can evaluate your candidacy):

    • Law School Application details & status (which can be updated throughout the Fellowship application process)
  • Supporting Documentation:
    • Resume (use the SEO template)
    • LSAC Academic Summary
    • Unofficial undergraduate/graduate transcripts
    • One (1) Reference (contacts will be asked to complete a standard SEO evaluation form) 
    • Law School Enrollment/Seat Deposit Confirmation

2026 Fellowship Application Timeline:

    • Application Opens: Thursday, December 4, 2025
    • Deadline: Sunday, March 1, 2026 (11:59 PM EST)
    • Interviews: Rolling invitations from January – April 2026
    • Proof of Law School Enrollment: Monday, April 13, 2026 (11:59 PM EST)
    • Admissions Decisions: April/Early May 2026
    • Program Dates: May 2026 – August 2027
      • Summer Internship: May 25, 2026 – August 7, 2026 (dates may vary slightly by firm)
      • 1L Academic Support: August 2026 – May 2027
      • Professional Support: October 2026 – August 2027

Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”)

  • Do I need to be admitted to law school to apply?

    No, but you must have submitted at least one law school application by the time you apply for the Fellowship.

  • Am I eligible if I’m not starting law school in Fall 2026?

    Only candidates who are starting law school in the fall immediately after their Fellowship summer are eligible for internships with our law firm partners.

  • Who is eligible to apply to the Fellowship?

    All are invited to apply; however, eligibility requirements include that you 1) have taken a required standardized test (LSAT, GRE, GMAT, or JD-Next) and obtained at least one official score by the time of application submission; 2) submitted at least one law school application by the time of application submission and; 3) plan to enroll at an ABA-accredited law school in Fall 2026. Eligible applicants must also be authorized to work within the United States. Authorization must be obtained independently of SEO and employment at a firm partner, prior to May 2026.

  • Can I update my application after submission?

    At each step of your application, you will be prompted to provide updates on your law school application and admissions status.

     

     

  • How do I submit my law school enrollment documents for the Fellowship application?

    You may submit updates on your law school application and admissions status at any point throughout the cycle using the law school updates form provided in your confirmation email.

  • When should I expect to interview with the SEO Law team?

    Interviews will take place from January 2026 to April 2026. If selected, you will be prompted to schedule a mutually convenient time.

  • Will selected Fellows only be considered for cities and practice groups noted in their applications or interviews?

    Applicants can indicate practice groups and preferred cities in the application. However, SEO Law determines the final office location.
