2022 SEO Law Catalyst Application: Second Round Task Instructions
In the second round, we are asking you to complete two (2) tasks: take an LSAT diagnostic test via LSAT Lab and respond to three (3) one-way video interview questions. Please carefully read the instructions for each task below. You can complete the tasks in any order. IMPORTANT: You will need to complete both tasks within seven (7) days of receipt of the email inviting you to the second round of the Catalyst application process. We will not be accepting any responses via email.
LSAT Diagnostic Test (Online, Self-Proctored Exam Mode)
Instructions:
- To complete your LSAT Diagnostic Test, first create your account via the link here.
- You will take PrepTest 71 on the LSAT Lab platform. Find detailed instructions for setting up your test here.
- Once you’ve completed your test, please take a screenshot of your score. You must submit your score to SEO Law using the form here. We are unable to accept submissions via e-mail.
Tips and Best Practices
- Start in a quiet area with no distractions. Put away your phone and any other electronics that may distract you. Make sure the device you are taking it on is fully charged.
- Allow a few minutes to login to your account and set up your work area.
- Set a timer for 35 minutes. Begin your test, working on each section for 35 minutes, and stopping when time is up. Try to answer all the questions, even if you are just guessing, as you are not penalized for incorrect answers.
- Good luck on your first PrepTest! While we know that it’s weird to say, don’t stress out about the results. Unless you’re the one in a million student who took Logic in college, it’s unlikely that your undergrad or professional career provided the knowledge base to ace this exam. This number is just a starting point, and you are capable of making huge improvements, no matter where you start.
One-Way Video Interview
Instructions:
- Access the three (3) one-way video questions via the Spark Hire platform here by selecting the “Go to your Interview” button. Please note, you will be taken to SEO London’s portal. Do not worry, you are in the right location! You’ll be asked to sign in, either by using your LinkedIn credentials or by creating a Spark Hire account.
- Once you’ve signed in, complete the Pre-Interview Details (confirm your name, email, and phone number).
- Select the Proceed button, which will launch the interview’s intro video. You can go through Spark Hire tutorial and technology checks.
- Next you’ll see the practice video. In the practice recording, you can re-read the question by clicking Read at the top right of your video panel. When you are ready to record, click Record at the top right of your video panel. Once your recording has started, you’ll see the time remaining at the top left of your video panel.
- You can record as many practice videos as you’d like. Know that you can also refer back to the Spark Hire tutorial, and access support and help articles, at anytime, by clicking the appropriate link in the header bar at the top right of the screen.
- If you need to log out and come back to complete your interview at a later time, click the Exit link in the header bar at the top right of the screen. This will bring you back to your Spark Hire profile, and you can return to the interview when you are ready to submit.
- When you are ready to complete and submit your interview, click Enter the Interview. Once you click View Question, you can view the question video, or skip ahead to view the question text on-screen in your video panel.
- Before responding to each question, you can take as much time as you need to formulate your response. When you are ready to response, click Ready to record.
- You will record a 2-minute response to each question, then review your response. You will have unlimited attempts to record your response to each question. Once you are satisfied with your response, you can click Submit at the top right of the video panel.
- Once you have submitted all three (3) responses you will see an optional survey, then will be brought back to your Spark Hire profile to log out.
Tips and Best Practices
- If you don’t have a webcam on your computer, you can use the Spark Hire mobile application on an Android or iOS (iPhone, iPad) device to complete your interview.
- Be you! Your video responses allow us to learn more about yourself and your experiences.
- Be specific and enthusiastic. If you have specific stories or examples that better illustrate your response, share those details with enthusiasm. This demonstrates your interest and passion for the field and will make you a memorable candidate.
- Be professional. If possible, dress in professional business attire. Find a good, quiet location to record your responses. Ensure there’s nothing in the background that you wouldn’t want the world to see!
- Be confident! Try your best to make eye contact by looking directly into the camera. And remember to smile!
