SEO’s Response to Events at the U.S. Capitol

Dear SEO Family,

Most of us have likely been watching today’s events in Washington, D.C. unfold with horror, shock, and anger. Our democracy is under unprecedented assault, as armed supporters of President Trump have taken over the United States Capitol.

SEO unequivocally condemns the violence and lawlessness we are witnessing. The U.S. is a country of laws, and there is no justification for the actions of this mob.

It’s disturbing to see the obvious differences in the response to these protests compared to the tear gas and violence used against those peacefully protesting for racial justice earlier this year in Washington, D.C. and other cities. We continue to see evidence of how systemic racism pervades every aspect of U.S. society, and SEO will persist in our work to ensure equity for all people in this country.
