SEO Scholars San Francisco offers the same eight-year, tuition-free program as SEO Scholars New York.
Founded in 2011 by SEO Career Alumnus Adam Karr, SEO Scholars San Francisco addresses the widening academic opportunity gap for underserved high school students in the Bay Area, with a challenging and engaging out of school academic program.
By providing students with year-round supplemental academic classes, mentorship, experiential learning opportunities, and career exposure during high school, we equip our Scholars to earn admission to - and graduate from - four-year colleges around the country. While in college, our Scholars receive the same array of supports and services as Scholars who have graduated from SEO Scholars, New York City.
28%
of Black and Hispanic SFUSD students graduate from high school eligible to attend college.
100%
of San Francisco Scholars have been admitted to four-year colleges.
Our Scholars have inspiring stories

“With help from SEO, I researched college mechanical engineering programs. SEO advised me to take AP Physics and Calculus and provided me with an SAT prep class, which improved my math scores. They encouraged me to attend, and subsidized, a Brown University pre-college summer program and guided me through the college admissions and scholarship process. It all came together when I was accepted to Santa Clara University’s School of Engineering.”

As Vanessa works towards becoming the first in her family to graduate from college, she is paving a path for those who will follow. “My family and my SEO community are my inspiration. Any time I worry that something isn’t possible, I remind myself that I will overcome any obstacle to become my family’s first college graduate.”
