May Reflections From a CEO – William Goodloe

The month of April ended with the phenomenal success of SEO’s Annual Awards Dinner on April 29 at the New York Hilton Midtown. We are so grateful to our supporters, including the 1275 attendees, who helped us raise over $7.5 million for our life-changing programs! SEO’s mission is to create a more equitable society through our 4 impactful programs – SEO Scholars, SEO Career, SEO Law, SEO Alternative Investments.

SEO Career is gearing up to prepare nearly 400 students from 100+ colleges for highly-coveted summer internships at top companies nationwide at the SEO Career Summit on May 17-24 in New York.

SEO Career is the nation’s premier recruiting and training program for underrepresented college students.  After the SEO Career Summit, students will begin their internships in investment banking, real estate, technology, and business at more than 80 SEO partner companies in 31 cities.

Historically, 80% of SEO Career interns receive full-time job offers upon completing their internships, before graduating college. SEO corporate partners count on SEO for our pipeline of high-potential, talented, entry-level hires. Click here to learn more about the SEO Career program.

We are also in the final preparations for the SEO Law Institute. The SEO Law Fellowship program helps future lawyers of color thrive in law school and excel in their careers.  From May 20-31, 116 Fellows in the SEO Law Class of 2019 will gather in NYC to learn from legal practitioners and obtain academic instruction from law school professors, before embarking on an eight-week paid internship at one of the 39 top law partner firms in 11 cities.  In the fall, Fellows will begin their first year at leading law schools.
