Operations Coordinator

Summary:

The Operations Coordinator will work closely with the Operations team to ensure the seamless execution of SEO’s after-school, Saturday, and summer program operations. This person will play an integral role in supporting students and staff by planning logistics; overseeing a team of part-time assistants; and ensuring the highest-quality delivery of our curricular materials. The Operations Coordinator will also be responsible for the daily operational needs of our office space, implementing and innovating processes to support our growing organization. This is a great opportunity for a highly organized and conscientious team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, as the Operations Coordinator will draw on their organizational and project-planning skillset to directly impact the academic outcomes of 1,000+ high-school students.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee, plan and seamlessly execute the logistics for after-school programming, including but not limited to: tracking student attendance; ensuring the delivery of all materials to our programming sites; managing room reservations and instructor logistics; and maintaining positive relationships with our site partners
  • Manage a team of part-time assistants who work on the front lines to execute the above operational aspects of programming
  • In coordination with the Senior Operations Manager, oversee the preparation, shipment and delivery of our curriculum materials across multiple grade levels and sites
  • Oversee room reservations and other space requests at our office on a weekly basis
  • Support the Senior Operations Manager with daily and long-term project needs, such as student data tracking, office management, and technology inventory and integration

 

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated passion for educational equity and closing the opportunity gap for first-generation students on the high school and college level
  • At least one year of professional experience managing and executing complex projects and logistics, such as planning events or facilitating ongoing operations of an organization or group
  • At least one year of professional experience leading or supporting a team to ensure high-quality results
  • Superior attention to detail and commitment to excellence in all aspects of work
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Orientation towards going above and beyond until a job is done

 

Other:
  • Work will require travel in Manhattan and Brooklyn
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, dependent on program needs
