New York, NY (May 10, 2019) — SEO, a non-profit organization whose mission is to create a more equitable society for young people of color, is helping more than 375 students secure highly coveted internships at Fortune companies nationwide through its program, SEO Career. SEO Career is the nation’s premier pre-professional development and program for underrepresented students.  After participants receive intensive coaching and training with SEO Career, they will launch their careers in investment banking, real estate, technology, and other corporate roles at more than 80 partner companies. The 2019 Summer Internship class will gather in New York City at the SEO Career Summit May 17-24 for pre-internship preparation and networking.

“We are proud of the hundreds of students that have landed coveted internships on Wall Street and corporate institutions nationwide. Historically, 80% of SEO Career participants receive full time job offers upon completing their internships. These students represent the untapped potential and talent available in underrepresented communities and the tremendous opportunity companies have to bring in diverse talent. SEO partners count on us for our pipeline of high-potential, talented entry-level hires,” said Mindy Davis, Managing Director, SEO Career.

Prior to beginning their internship, students will attend the annual SEO Career Summit, a week-long event featuring intensive workshops, seminars and networking events. More than 20 industry leaders will provide key insights during the event including the chairman of SEO’s board of directors, Henry Kravis, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO, KKR; Tim Buckley, CEO, Vanguard; David Solomon, CEO, Goldman Sachs; Raymond McGuire, Vice Chairman; Citi; and Mandell Crawley, Head of Private Wealth Management, Morgan Stanley.

“SEO is passionate about preparing and propelling underrepresented college students with the tangible skills that will help them succeed in their internship and earn a full-time job offer. They are equipped with the technical skills and soft skills that make them an asset to any company they work with. The SEO Career Summit is a phenomenal opportunity for students to learn from industry experts, increase their network and ultimately be surrounded by ambitious, like-minded people,” said William Goodloe, president and CEO of SEO.

For more than 35 years, SEO Career has recruited, trained and supported underrepresented college students to succeed in their summer internships. The 2019 summer internship class will join a network of more than 7,000 SEO Career alumni working at investment banks, real estate firms and more.
