Working on programs or resources for fellow alumni

Be a "Professional Development Captain"
Work with a small alumni team and SEO staff to coordinate panel discussions or other resources on a particular industry or career topic popular among alumni.  For example, your team could focus on law, finance, education/nonprofit, or general professional and leadership development.  Captains should be able to stay involved for at least one year, with the goal of coordinating 1-2 program activities per year.

Mentor an SEO alum through the upcoming MBA application process
Remember how stressful the MBA application process was?  Did you learn valuable lessons that would benefit other SEO alumni?  Sign up to participate in SEO's new MBA Applicant Mentoring Initiative.  There are two levels of volunteering:

> Mentors: work with a single mentee assisting with school selection, candidate positioning, essay brainstorming, etc. (not expected to copy-edit essays.)  Mentor/mentee pairs will receive an information packet containing MBA program background information, testimonials from former MBA students, among other relevant information.
> Advisors: provide secondary support to mentor/mentee pairs (e.g. conduct mock interviews)

Be available to advise alumni on graduate school or entering/advancing in a specific industry
The SEO alumni network has proved valuable to many in their graduate school and career advancement.  To help facilitate advisory connections within the alumni network, simply log in to SEO NetCommunity and update the Alumni Advising and other relevant fields in your profile so more alumni can find each other efficiently via the searchable directory.

Co-coordinate programs to educate alumni on wealth creation and strategic philanthropy
SEO's SIRV initiative focuses on building a new generation of philanthropists.  While it is not currently a funded program, alumni intersted in helping with programs or resources similar to the SIRV Speakers Series and Legendes in Business, Leaders in Philantrhropy events are encouraged to explore ideas with us.  The SIRV team can also plan group volunteer outings for alumni during the year.

Help coordinate after-work networking socials for alumni
SEO is looking for alumni to help plan and promote networking events, either in the New York City area (where approximately half of alumni reside) or in regional chapter locations.
