Scholars Program Spring Update
As a tutor in the SEO Scholars Program, you will be an important part of the critical supplemental education SEO students receive, as they try to improve GPAs and SAT scores, gain greater subject mastery, and prepare to earn admission to and succeed at competitive colleges and universities.
Tutors assist students in the following subject areas:
- Algebra
- Geometry
- Calculus
- Physics
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Global History
- Reading Comprehension
- Writing
- Grammar
- Vocabulary
Time commitment?
Preferred: one day per week from 4:30–6:30PM for 3 or more months.
(Exact day depends on subject – see below.)
Starting when?
Week of January 25th.
Where?
SEO’s offices in lower Manhattan.
How many students would I be tutoring?
You’ll generally work with the same 1 to 5 students each week and really be able to get to know them. You’ll be with one group for the first hour and another for the second hour.
Would I need to prepare a lesson plan?
No. Tutors will help students work through assignments from SEO Saturday classes and their own high school work. SEO staff can orient you with additional skills/content as needed.
I’m interested! Who should I contact?
Please call or email Millie Hau, Director of the Scholars Program, at 646-435-9555 or mhau@seo-usa.org.
