Who We Serve
The SEO Scholars Program works with students who have the capacity for high achievement, yet have not had the opportunity to attend a school where they receive the academic preparation needed for competitive college admissions and success. We look for students achieving at least a C in school (2.0 out of 4.0 GPA), have a high rate of attendance and are determined to attend a four-year college.
SEO recruits students from our affiliate schools and through a city-wide outreach effort in New York City. SEO is currently recruiting students from SFUSD for August 2011 admission to our inaugural San Francisco cohort. In the 2010-11 program year, the Scholars Program will serve 334 high school students and 206 college students. Nearly 60% of our NYC high school students are from households where the annual family income is less than $33,000.
