Philanthropy/TFA
Philanthropy is an active effort to promote human welfare and serve the public good. People who are involved in philanthropy strive to affect social change in meaningful, strategic, and sustainable ways. SEO Philanthropy applicants have an opportunity to work with Teach For America, an origanization dedicated to eliminating inequity in the national public education system.
Teach For America is building the movement to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting our nation's most promising future leaders in the effort. Interns learn about the inner workings of one of the nation’s leading educational organizations by engaging in meaningful projects on any number of teams, including: Admissions, Growth Strategy & Development, Human Assets, Marketing, Diversity and Inclusiveness, and Public Affairs, among others. High performing interns will be well-positioned to apply to teach through the corps or to apply for full-time staff positions.
Through networking and educational events, interns buils a large professional network. Additionally, Philanthropy interns lead the SEO Class Gift initiative, where youth-serving organizations in New York CIty are awarded grants based on research, site visits and recommendations made to the entire Career Program class.
