Accounting/Finance

Finance professionals are the backbone of businesses. They record, analyze, summarize and report financial information to be used by management and investors.

Finance professionals also play a key role in the firm’s daily management and decision-making process. While working one-on-one with each business, they help execute strategic goals, drive growth, and manage the firm’s risk by implementing financial controls over its business activities.

In the SEO Accounting/Finance Program, interns’ responsibilities generally include calculating daily or weekly profits and losses for specific products or trading desks, preparing budgets and forecast for business units, analyzing monthly and quarterly variances in actual revenues/ expenses and variances between actual and budgeted revenues/expenses, analyzing trends in expenses and revenues, reconciling accounts, preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger and preparing ad hoc reports and financial statements.

In addition to developing strong financial analysis skills during their internship, candidates will also have the opportunity to meet and mingle with CFOs and other senior executives through seminars hosted by our partner firms. Strong analytical and good communication skills are essential in this program area.
