Recognizing a host of development opportunities, SEO collaborates with alumni to develop a growing range of professional programs and resources relevant to their interests. By continuing to invest in the success of program participants, SEO achieves its mission of preparing leaders while making itself a “forward-looking” organization – where student participation during high school or college represents only the beginning of their relationship with SEO.
Events
At industry-focused panel discussions, alumni hear the perspectives and advice of experienced professionals in a particular field, such as alternative investments or the nonprofit sector. SEO is also expanding programming on general professional growth and career transition strategies for alumni interested in making a change, such as the Rebranding Yourself panel discussions.
Each year, SEO sees a large handful of alumni return to business school. To help inform their decisions and equip them with strategies for gaining admission to the MBA program of their choice, SEO has collaborated for several years with the Ten School Diversity Alliance to offer an annual pre-MBA panel and reception, featuring admissions representatives and alumni from top schools. Other events have included Branding Your Way to an MBA, led by Chioma Isiadinso, Founder & CEO of EXPARTUS, where SEO alumni learn what it takes to formulate and present an effective personal brand in a business school application.
Virtual panel discussions have also been developed via collaborative efforts among regional alumni chapters.
Resources
Alumni are encouraged to log in to SEO NetCommunity, where they can search and post job opportunities on the Career Center, search for alumni who can offer guidance on graduate school or various industries, and access other resources.
